Only been here 3 times so far but I was hooked on the first night!! The track changes daily so the groove is different every time. Keeps drivers on their toes and brings out the best talent. Having been in asphalt the last few years it was awesome to get back to the dirt. Plus you never know who you may see there or race against. Top talent and professional drivers are here week in and week out.
Millbridge reminds me of the race tracks I used to spend Saturday nights at with my dad in the early 70's. It's nothing fancy. But it's good old southern family fun. They run classes of cars from 5 year old kids up to adults in small versions of Outlaw and Sprint cars. Don't wear light colors. The red dirt does tend to fly!
I have watched racing at Millbridge through online streaming service, but it couldn't compare to my first in-person visit.
I have raced go-karts for 30 years, and have never seen a nicer facility and better prepared racing surface.
It was great to walk through the pits and see future stars of the sport. I respected the privacy of the NASCAR stars who were present to enjoy an evening with their kids and not there to pose for pictures or sign autographs. On race night, their kids are the stars. I enjoyed meeting them and getting their photos and autographs.
Don't let their young age fool you. These 6 and 7 year olds can really wheel fast race karts.
I can't wait for my next visit now that I know what to expect.
Oh, and dare I forget the professional PA announcing from the legendary Steve Post.
